Meet Our New Interim Director!
Water Collaborative of Greater New Orleans
Appoints Atianna J. Cordova as Interim Director
The Greater New Orleans Water Collaborative announced today that it has engaged Atianna J. Cordova, Founder of WATER BLOCK LLC, to serve as Interim Director. Ms. Cordova will serve for three months while the Water Collaborative conducts a national search for a full-time Director.
Ms. Cordova has extensive experience in stormwater management, urban design and planning, youth education, and resilience strategies. Her experience in community engagement and equity building mesh perfectly with the increasing focus of the Water Collaborative on widespread community involvement in all aspects of water management.
“Communities of color and low income people are disproportionately impacted by environmental challenges and have been historically excluded from decision making processes in our built environment,” said Ms. Cordova. “As the Interim Director, I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, city stakeholders and residents to create a strategy that is inclusive and reflective of all our city’s people and culture.”
“We are thrilled to work with Atianna as we go through this transition period,” said Keith Twitchell, Chair of the Water Collaborative Board of Directors. “Her experience and her vision align closely with that of the Collaborative, and we look forward to increasing the impacts and awareness of the organization under her leadership.”
